It depends when she started to take it. If she is in the middle of her cycle it is a good idea to use another method. If she started taking at the very start of her cycle you're ok. Plan Parenthood has a hot-line. If you are worried. It's better to double check then to have an unwanted pregnancy. Google it. Otherwise she would have gotten a little sheet with all of that information on it... how to use it when to use it what it will do etc etc. I'm not familiar with that brand (I'm assuming it's a pill?) but mine (seasonale) you need to use a backup birth control method for a week, and others it might be a month. Just ask her or I'm sure the company has a website.
It will be fine after 2 weeks. Not right away.

I work in clinics. It takes 14 days usually, but just to make sure her cycle gets regular, it's best not to have unprotected sex before 28 days.
