If I start takeing birth control will it make me pregnant again?

Both times I was pregnant was right after I got off of birth control. I was on the shot the first time and on the patch the second time. Two weeks after I got off birth controll I was pregnant both times. This time I have been off birth controll for over two years and I have been ttc for a year. So in other words this time I was not right off of birth control.Do you think If i get on birth control for a month and than get off I will help me get pregnant. I have seen my doc and both me and my husbands test are all ok. I have normal cycles 26 days exactly and I ovulate every month. I use ovulation test. What do you think? If I start takeing birth control will it make me pregnant again?
I don't think taking birth control and then stopping will help you get pregnant, sounds like it was a coincidence last time.

But, hey, if nothing else is working and you think that might help, then do it.

I fell pregnant the first month with my child and now have been trying for a year with no luck - go figure. If I start takeing birth control will it make me pregnant again?
ok honey...if you are trying than ';no'; you definately do not want to go back on the pill or something like that. that is not the answer.

just because your ovulation tests say you are ovulating does not mean you are releasing eggs! you are just detecting the surge. i suggest you go to the dr. and get a progesterone level test done. its easy, they just draw blood. this will tell if you are actually releasing eggs, and if it shows you are not than most likely they will give you something to make you ovulate such as clomid.

i think this may be the problem for you ..... as it was for me. i spent lots of money for months on ovulation tests and i wasnt even releasing eggs....what a waste!

so i hope this helps you somewhat, its a start. good luck hun!
you know the same for me i'm really thinking about it myself well let's see what others say good luck
I don't know if that would help or hurt your chances...have you asked your doctor? My husband and I TTC for a year and FINALLY succeeded once we stopped worrying about it so much...I say we, I should say ME! Just have fun trying, don't stress over when to ';do it';, it will happen when the time is right...you know that you are both okay, so that is reassuring! Talk to your doc about the b/c idea...maybe it could help, I've heard that b/c can make you more fertile! Good luck!
The first thing i don't believe too much in that ovulation test cause i use them for lots of months waste too much money and nothing happens the way that i get pregned in only 3 months its basal temperature cause that way you know how works your body and when u learn to read it and see your basal temp. changes u can get pregned faster cause you can know your ovulation day more accurate soo i thing that could be the best test.

Second the doctor can tell you all its ok but it doesnt the first thing to think is if u have stress it can be in your work or your like or it can begin for this situation of ttc. The second thing its check if ur gyn check your hormones levels, including tyroid levels, glucose levels, prolactin, progesterone i think a bad result can affect. Sometimes that pills can affect and can make you try months and months and nothing.

The other thing that u can do its go to a fertility specialist he could make you a sonograms, studies and more to know what happend sometimes our body change and we can have endometriosis, a cyst, policystic ovaries, irregulation in hormones levels, and lots of things that we can't know soo go to a specialist to know what is happening sometimes he can gave you a pills to ovulate more and have your baby sooner, Good Luck!
Some women take birth control pills for a few months to get their cycle regular again. This is usually b/c they have really long cycles or they are not ovulating. If you already have regular cycles and you are definitely ovulating, I don't think it will help.

My guess is that this time is taking longer b/c you and your partner are both older, and changes have occurred since the last time you conceived (they might be small changes that don't show up on tests, and that won't make you infertile, but only make the time TTC longer).

I would discuss it with your doctor before attempting it. If fertility is slowing down a bit for you, using BCPs again could actually oversuppress your ovaries and make conceiving more difficult. Your FSH level (you can find it out from the tests your doctor did) will let you know if you might be at risk for oversuppression. If it is low, the chance of oversuppressing is low, if it is high, it would be best to stay away from the Pill. Good luck!
Many drs use birth control for a few months to regulate a woman's period when she's ttc. I read this article about birth control %26amp; hyperovulation, which basically says that if you get pregnant while on the pill or directly after then you may ovulate more b/c you haven't in such a long time. This may be what is happening with you, in which case it would make sense to try it, but I'm not for sure if 1 month would be long enough.

Here is the link to the article (it's about conceiving twins but still relevant)
