How long do you need to be on birth control before it is effective?

Ok, so my girlfriend just started taking the pill about a month ago. I assume she has not missed any (which may be dumb of me). Last night, we had sex for the first time, and I came inside her without any protection. I know it was dumb (very dumb). The risk of STD not withstanding, has she been on the pill long enough to protect us against pregnancy?

By the way, we are going to use condoms from now on, too.How long do you need to be on birth control before it is effective?
it is usually a month, but certain ones can take up to 3 months and she can not miss any pills otherwise it is ineffective. How long do you need to be on birth control before it is effective?
after about 24 hours..but i would reccomrnd the shot because it starts working ammidetally.
2 weeks...but you should ask her to go to the store and get a Plan B pill because it can prevent pregnancy and it's worth it if you're not trying to have a baby!
Depends on what kind of birth control she is on but she should be on the pill for 3 weeks before her period den start taking dem for 3 weeks again after her period....good luck x x x really should look in to dis things before hand!!
Typically your doctor says one month. You are most likely fine after one cycle essentially. It can also depend on what time of her cycle she began taking the pill. Basically...relax!
Usually the pill takes about 2 weeks to get into the system properly. And yes you should always use condoms.
usually a month
at least two weeks. But it would be better and safer if u waited a month. So i guess it really depends on how horny u are...
i think its a month depends on the type ask your doctor
