How comes the indians didn't fight for there country when the british took control of it?

If you look back at history the africans, native south americans and native americans fought the europeans when they tried to take control of there land. So why why did the indians let the british just take over there country without force? How comes the indians didn't fight for there country when the british took control of it?
because the british were very effective in divide and control, before the British there was no country of INDIA, the british would pit one ethnic group against the other and would swoop in like they would solve the problemHow comes the indians didn't fight for there country when the british took control of it?
Heard of the Indian revolt of 1857?

India was taken over as a business enterprise by the East India Company. When the company was expanding its power in India there was no such thing as ';The Indians';. There were many small states and principalities. The company and its private army were able to take control of them one by one by making alliances and playing one ruler off against another.

After the revolt, which saw some fierce fighting and atrocities by both sides, the British government took over control of India and it became properly a part of the Empire.
because they were smart enough to know that they will loose anyway, so why struggle so much when the europeans had more power.
cos they wanted mix race
