Do you think that the US will one day control soccer the same way it controls hockey?

The US didn't invent hockey, but it has won most of the Stanley Cups, including every one since 1994. Hockey still ranks below High school football and golf in the US.

So will the US control soccer one day, even if most Americans are unaware of the same?Do you think that the US will one day control soccer the same way it controls hockey?
Definitely - in fact it has started to take place already... with Beckham coming over to play in the MLS and reports of others following him (Zidane, Ronaldo, etc.)... The MLS will become the premier soccer league in the world and everyone will start to come over to the US to play. After all, who can resist being paid as much as someone like Beckham is being paid?Do you think that the US will one day control soccer the same way it controls hockey?
i would have to say no , third world countries have too much talent when it comes to soccer
Sure, as soon as we own almost every World Cup team we will win most of them. We don't OWN hockey if you go by international competition. The U.S. is good in hockey true, but you are comparing the NHL(which is basically U.S. run) to International games. Heck what international team has won the MLS title? See we OWN in Soccer. Anyway if kids get interested in soccer and stay interested then the U.S. may get good. Remember NHL teams are still mostly Canadians and Europeans.
I don't think it is a fair comparison because in the hockey example you are comparing US vs. Canada. In the soccer scenario, it's US vs. the rest of the world.

My opinion is that the US will not dominate in soccer until it is a front runner in media coverage, fan base, revenue, etc. We are so behind in soccer compared to the rest of the world... and for the rest of the world soccer is like the NFL or baseball in the US.

A good example of this is how the US Women's National team just won the Algarve Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in women's soccer and it barely made news here! I just feel like we have a long way to go to catch up - and if we do, it will be a reflection of Americans to fall in love with the sport and give it serious attention - the rest will follow.

Oh dude!. This is the worst question ever. The usa will never dominate soccer. The usa doesnt even come close to dominating hockey. The usa isn't even in the same league as canada for hockey. The americans have the lowest percentage of hockey players in the NHL man. 65% are canadian, 15% are american and 30% are european. woohoo mike madano is the highest scoring american born player. big whooooopeeeeee. yes you are correct in saying that ';american teams'; have won more stanley cups latley. However the highest percentage of players on those teams are...get this, are you ready...hold on to your hat, giddiup fella, close yer eyes. CANADIAN!!! thats right. big ol' canadians who rule the hockey world. And yes , a canadian is also the MVP 2 times , 2 times in the NBA. thats MR. NASH to you kid. if it wasnt canadians playing for american teams the USA would have nuthing. Europeans even have to come to the usa to play soccer to make attendance ratings higher.

NEXT QUESTION PLEAAAAAAASE!

';HOCKEY...INVENTED BY A CANADIAN...PERFECTED BY CANADIANS.

P.S. notice how very few americans play hockey for canadian teams.

please vote my answer as the best...because it is the best.
