Hi!
Can eating out several times hurt the budget? If it can, then what are some ways to make very quick meals at home instead of eating out? Or is there a way to eat out while skimping on your budget??Can eating out kill your budget? If so, how can you control it?
Eating out can definitely kill your budget! Not to mention, it's not very healthy for the most part.
My best advice is to become great friends with your broiler - you can broil chicken pieces, pork chops, all kinds of fish and seafood, and do it very quickly - just a drizzle of olive oil and some herbs and you're good to broil (I also add a lot of minced garlic to most of mine - I'm a garlic fiend!)
You can roast some veggies right along side - I do asparagus, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers a lot - mushrooms are good too! Or simply steam a veggie in a pan or the microwave. Have lots of salad fixings on hand for a quick salad, plus some beans and/or rice to serve along side your meat or fish.
Some other quick dinner ideas are: pasta and pesto sauce (you can buy the sauce, if you don't want to make it but it's fast and easy to make), a nice veggie omelet and a salad, seared tuna or salmon steaks, stir fry's..things like that. The trick is to have a well stocked fridge and pantry, otherwise cooking becomes a chore and it's easier to eat out.
Best wishes %26amp; have fun with it!Can eating out kill your budget? If so, how can you control it?
Of course eating out can wreck a budget. YOu can make it at home for 20% of what any restaurant sells it for.
To eat out cheap, (1)dont' go to places where you have to tip. (2)Then, eat off the Dollar (or Value) Menu, and get small fries or other sides that are cheap. (3) Drink water. (4) Read the windows of restaurants to see what their special is... sometimes it'll be a sandwich for only 99 cents. That and water will fill you up, guard yoru budget, and save you lots of calories (by not getting fries). And many times those sandiwches dont' come w/ lettuce/tomato, but they will add it on fro free if you ask.
I never eat out. I think it is really over-rated,plus I hate microwaved or pre-cooked food. Some restaurants just serve up fancy prepared meals anyhow and I'm not stupid enough to pay way over for the privilege (my opinion - don't wish to offend anyone) I prefer to make all my own meals from scratch then I know where the ingredients have come from and how fresh the ingredients are.
If you do enjoy eating out, find a good restaurant who cook to order and just go occasionally as a treat, this way you'll enjoy it all the more.
Hope you have a good day ;-)
yes it does kill the budget if you watch old episodes of oprah the money manager tells families it does.Cooking healthy meals in is much better for budget and health. One family spent a 100 bucks a day eating out.(I wondered what they were eating)
If i do eat out.I use coupons i get in the mail for lennys subs or take advantage of two for one dinners at restaurants..we live in fla so many retired people normally between 4 and 6 they will run specials for retired and others..so take advantage of those also.
i watch food network and try recipes from there we love the george forman for hotdogs, broiled chicken to throw on salads, mexicans always fun!good luck!!
I think it depends. Are you buying groceries to make food at home all week and THEN going out to eat instead? If so, yes it will kill your budget. BUT if you plan to eat out and don't buy food for those meals, then it could actually be cheaper if you eat cheap...dollar menus or subway, etc. if you are going to real restaurants then it will kill your budget anyway...
Start cooking more - go out once a week and you'll appreciate it more!
YES IT CAN TRY ONLY GOING ONCE OR TWICE
