When you start the first pack of birth control does it stop ovulation for that month?

I started it on the 'Sunday after my period' which was day 3 of my period. Please help.When you start the first pack of birth control does it stop ovulation for that month?
It might, it might not. That's why they tell you to use a back-up form of birth control for the first month.When you start the first pack of birth control does it stop ovulation for that month?
It says on the directions to use another form of birth control for the first 7 days after you start the pack. But, I always just used a back-up birth control (condoms) for the first month, just to be on the safe side.
they tell you it takes a month it just depends on the person I guess. Some it might start right away and others it might take a while.
