Birth control: is it ok to start a new month 3 days late?

I usually start taking them on a sunday, but due to complications I didn't have my new pack in time. Sometimes if I get the new pills late, I'll just start on the monday instead, but is Wednesday too long to wait? Should i take the 2 pills i missed also?

Don't take extra or double up (it won't fix the problem, and will just cause unwanted side effects), just start with the pill marked with today's day, and save the missed ones for next time you have a delay in getting a new pack. Keep taking the pills as normal until you get to the end of the pack, and then start a new pack as normal.





You are currently not protected against pregnancy, but you will be again once you have taken an active pill each day for at least seven days in a row. So either abstain from sex, or use condoms etc until then.





Missing pills in the first week of a new pack is the most dangerous time, as you've already had a break from the hormones. Extending the hormone-free period can cause ovulation and therefore pregnancy.Birth control: is it ok to start a new month 3 days late?

If you miss three ';active'; tablets in a row during any of the first 3 weeks, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new pack on the same day if you are a Day 1 starter. If you are a Sunday starter, keep taking a pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, throw out the rest of the pack and start a new one that day.





If you miss two or more pills, you may not have a period during the month. If you miss a period for two months in a row, call your doctor because you might be pregnant.





A bit of advice... Order your refills during the THIRD week, that way you can pick it up that week, and have another week of pills left so you don't miss it because the stores closed or whatnot. I do this all the time.
wow. i just had this problem like two days ago i went and seen the doctor she gave me a pack for the time. she told me just to start now which was tuesday and i ran out on saturday. so i took it. you only take the one for that day then keep going from there dont take the other pills you missed just be careful when you have sex for a week you can get prego.
No you should be taking them regularly! I suggest you use a condom for the next few weeks because you messed up your schedule.
