Some say 7 some say 30 but all in all it's still not 100% and you still have a slight possibility of getting pregnant. I didHow many days do you have to take birth control for it to start working?
According to my OBGYN, a woman should take birth control pills for 1-2 months before they reach their full effectiveness. So, it's possible they COULD help within the first month, but it's also highly likely they will fail to work at that time.
And remember, no birth control method is 100%, so it's always possible to get pregnant no matter how long you have been on the pill. I've known a woman who got pregnant while using the pill AND a condom, so anything is possible. How many days do you have to take birth control for it to start working?
If you start taking them the day you start your period then it should work right away. If you don't start on that day they say to use condoms for a certain amount of days like 7-14 days but I am not exactly sure on that. To be safe I would use back up the whole cycle if you don't start taking them the day you start your period.
Oh my gosh NO, do not believe the people who are saying it works right away. That's why I have friends who got pregnant on their honeymoons! You are supposed to go through two full menstrual cycles (2 packs of pills) before having sex without a backup method like condoms.
