I have been going to a Dr for about a year and a half and they have found no solution for me. I went through so many different procedures. I hear commercials that this problem can be gone within just a few visits? What gives??? Please only serious answers. I am going to the Dr. for a visit soon to discuss this and tell him I need to know if he can help or I need to seek another specialist.How long does it take to get incontinence under control? Will it ever end completley?
It depends on what caused your incontience to begin with. An injury, your age, radiation treatments, prior surgeries? I would strongly urge you to go to a physician who specializes in this condition though. I am a nurse in this type of field and I have seen a lot of people both younger and older with this problem and they have verbalized to me, '; I wish I would have come here first';
Some times its a twist in medications that can help, other times physicians will recomend what we call biofeedback, its a type of retraining, other times surgicial interventions are the best bet!!!
Please remember as a patient you are your own best advocate!!!!
Good luckHow long does it take to get incontinence under control? Will it ever end completley?
it all depends on what has caused it to begin with. my husband has his prostrate removed five months ago , and still has problems with the incontinenece. even though its not as bad as it was at the beginning, he just has accustomed himself to wearing the male guards not diapers till the problem goes away.
