Is it true that if you get pregnant on birth control it has a higher chance of miscarriage?

This just happened to me, and i heard bieng on BC might have been the cause.


If so, which types have the highest chance? How can it be prevented? My husband and I arent sure if we want another baby just yet, but if birth control means losing more babies, I just cant handle that.Is it true that if you get pregnant on birth control it has a higher chance of miscarriage?
I have not heard of any scientific evidence or studies regarding your correlation between pregnancy and birth control. I was on the pill and got pregnant, and I know many women who were on the pill, went off, got pregnant, and carried to term. From what I have been told, a miscarriage happens because something is not genetically right with the baby or inside of your body for that specific pregnancy. Sometimes these things just happens. yes thats true, it happened to me, i was on bc for a year then got pregnant and miscarried at 7 weeks





i also know alot of people who did get pregnant on birth control and had successful pregnancies, so you never know.
No, it is not true. Those claims are by religious groups. Studies have not shown a higher rate of miscarriage amongst women who take the birth control pill vs. those who didn't. Studies also confirmed that immediately dropping off birth control pills does not increase your chances of miscarriage. This is not true of all forms of contraception, just the birth control pill.





The IUD is one form that has been associated with increased miscarriages. I don't know all that much about it.





A very extensive study of miscarriages done in England found that 40% of all miscarriages are caused by genetic malformations. 60% have other causes but often by something that would not have been known prior to miscarriage (clots behind and in placenta being a biggie).
I don't think this is true. I've known many women who got pregnant on the pill and did NOT miscarry. To my knowledge there is NO known reason for miscarriage, it is just something that happens.
